The National Youth Agency: Global Youth Work web site launched

1 min read

In a recent survey of those in the youth work field carried out by The NYA, 85 per cent of respondents thought that it was important for young people to know about global issues, but more than 70 per cent felt they had insufficient knowledge, a lack of training or a lack of resources to carry out this work. "The web site responds to a need among youth workers for more information on global issues as they affect young people," explained Jo Aubrey, Global Youth Work Project manager.

Topics covered include human rights, globalisation, travel and the lifestyles of young people around the world. There are also extensive listings of resources, events and training opportunities. Visitors can even write reviews with the chance to see them used in the "resource of the month" feature. There will also be regular competitions to win featured resources.
