The guidance, developed in discussion with the Department for Education and Skills, also covers the youth service performance measures outlined in the letter to local authority youth services from Margaret Hodge, minister for children, young people and families, last December.
"In order to meet youth service performance measures, it is vital that youth work practitioners and managers are clear about what is expected. It is important to have agreement on the definition of key terms to secure a reasonable level of consistency in reporting", explained The Agency.
A document of frequently asked questions has been published alongside the guidance. Both are available on The NYA web site at www.nya.org.uk, in the Transforming Youth Work Section under Policy Development.
