The National Youth Agency: The NYA and fpa launch sexual healthcourse at House of Lords

1 min read

Anne Weyman, chief executive of fpa, said: "We were thrilled that the minister agreed to launch the Core Competencies course, which will set the standard for this type of work. There are many professionals working with young people and sexual health but, despite some excellent, innovative practice, prior to fpa's new course there were few opportunities for them to gain professional recognition in such a specialised field."

Tom Wylie, who also spoke at the launch, said: "We are in a time of rapid change for young people's services, and anything that enables young people to access youth workers with the skills and knowledge to deal with sexual health issues is to be very much welcomed."
