The two authorities now join Rotherham young people's services, Bradford Youth Service, E:merge in Bradford, the Bradford City Centre Project and Black Country Connexions in holding the National Award quality mark, the first to have focused specifically on work with young people.
All went through a rigorous self-assessment process, achieving an "established" score in 11 category standards, before being accredited by the quality standards committee and ratified by The NYA board. Several further submissions are currently being considered for the National Award, and the next deadline for submissions is Monday 11 February 2008.
