The National Youth Agency's Partners In Innovation (PIN) scheme, we look at how the Fairbridge charity worked with a school in Southampton to achieve a varied programme of youth activities.
Fairbridge Solent, part of the national youth charity Fairbridge, hosted a PIN-funded project working with extended school Chamberlayne Park along with other partners, including Southampton City Council Youth Service.
Meeting The National Youth Agency theme of "the contribution of youth work to wider services for young people", the initiative fostered a structured yet informal selection of projects and courses aimed at 14- to 19-year-olds.
A wide menu of activity options was available for young people, who were able to make informed choices about the level of their involvement and, if they wished, gain accreditation.
