It now works across a range of agencies to improve and develop services for young people, ensuring they remain at the heart of governance. It is the type of participation that develops employability skills, promotes volunteering and enhances the concept of "joined up" services.
Above all, the YAU is an active body of young people. By choosing to participate in its various projects and initiatives, young people are able to raise their views and represent those of their peers across the city. The project is also working to improve overall services for young people in Portsmouth, and improve community relationships between different groups throughout the area.
