Launched this week, the pack builds on the programme screened last year and was commissioned in response to research showing that Britain has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe.
The Baby Borrowers was a unique social experiment designed to capture first-hand experiences of teenagers in various parenting situations. The programme makers were testing the hypothesis that the most effective way for young people to understand what it's really like to be a parent is to put them in charge of a child.
The series enabled young people to explore the realities of teenage parenthood.
Writing in a foreword to the pack, Fiona Blacke, NYA chief executive, says: "Youth work helps young people learn about themselves, others and society through activities that combine enjoyment, challenge, learning and achievement. Those of you who saw the original series of The Baby Borrowers on television will, I think, agree that these terms can equally be applied to that programme.
