Neighbourhood Support Fund projects are meeting the government agenda set through Transforming Youth Work. The NYA has shown that its voluntary sector projects have the capacity to deliver a high-quality, structured and responsive programme. We meet the needs of those young people considered to be the "hardest to reach", according to Kirk Lester from Bold as Brass theatre group in South Tyneside.
As project manager of an NSF-NYA project, Kirk took part in a two-day residential training event held in Leeds in early April. Bringing together 16 managers and workers from projects based around the country, together with members of the NYA-NSF central team, the event's focus was Best Practice through the NYA-NSF.
