Along with project officer Man Yee Lee, he is based at The National Youth Agency's Leicester offices and is continuing to develop the Foundation's role of providing support and expertise to those delivering youth work with Muslim young people or those wishing to develop Muslim approaches.
He said: "There are many professional youth workers who are engaged in dealing with and responding to the sometimes sensitive and cultural needs of young Muslims, but they are often isolated with little or no support and at times the community is against them.
"In my view, The Muslim Youth Work Foundation has to be a visible means of support for the plethora of organisations and institutions that come into contact and work with Muslim young people. It is about being committed to the values of empowerment, participation, inclusion, fairness and equality."
