THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: Modern apprenticeships to offer newcareer pathways

1 min read

There is a strange paradox in youth work at present. More and more young people are looking for a career in youth work but find that, though they are able to be volunteers, training opportunities are often only available for those in paid youth work or those over 19 years of age. PAULO - the National Training Organisation for Community based Learning and Development, which covers youth work - and The National Youth Agency have agreed to tackle this paradox. Together they will lead the development of a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship linked to the NVQ level 2 and an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship linked to the NVQ level 3 in youth work in order to offer new career pathways into youth work.
