It will be held on 23 July 2003, between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm, at The Lakeside Conference Centre, Aston University, Birmingham.
Invited speakers will examine the NVQ/VRQ qualifications at levels 2 and 3 in Youth Work and what is needed for local implementation, professional approval and quality assurance. Delegates will hear about examples of structures and partnerships that have been put in place and the local and/or regional basis to facilitate this.They will have the opportunity to share ideas and programmes for basic training, and to hear about current good practice in basic training qualifications and systems. Plans put in place at The NYA/PAULO seminar on 1 July to develop the Modern Apprenticeship in youth work for the 16+ age range will also be outlined. The place of these qualifications in respect of the proposed JNC single pay-spine will be explained.
