The National Youth Agency: Green paper reference group releasesdiscussion paper

1 min read

The paper looks at service provision and opportunities across sectors and particularly highlights the contribution of the youth work sector.

It addresses partnerships, legislation, resources, infrastructure and workforce issues and looks at the strategic role of trusts and Local Strategic Partnerships, suggesting that those charged with delivery should enjoy "harnessed freedoms" to ensure that all keep a determined focus on the agreed outcomes. The paper concludes with practical recommendations for programmes and types of delivery.

Representatives from the reference group - whose members include the Association of Directors of Social Services, Association of Principal Youth and Community Officers, British Youth Council, Fairbridge, the Muslim Youth Helpline and the National Association of Connexions Partnerships among others, as well as The NYA and NCVYS - will now discuss with their own constituencies to refine current thinking and add ideas before a finalised paper is prepared to support the contribution of organisations to the consultation on the green paper when it is published.
