Getting Better All The Time by Bryan Merton, Rob Hunter and Harriet Gore aims to share widely the lessons that can be learned from various services. In particular, it looks at those services that have brought about significant changes to the way they work in order to raise standards of youth work provision and practice.
The book is based around six case studies, each adopting a different theme. We learn how Staffordshire has gone about changing the entire culture of its services, how Derbyshire has successfully analysed needs and allocated resources, and how Windsor and Maidenhead has developed its curriculum. The book also examines how Wirral has harnessed young people's voices and views, how Doncaster has put quality assurance processes in place, and how Coventry works collaboratively in partnerships.
