The National Youth Agency: Free online resource will improve delivery on young people's health

1 min read
A new online resource for healthy youth work has been unveiled by The National Youth Agency (NYA).

Health-e is an introduction to health issues for frontline staff who work with young people and who want to be more confident in delivering health-related activities.

Richard McKie, national programme manager at The NYA, said: "As an innovative online learning environment, Health-e is accessible anytime and anywhere, and so overcomes some of the main barriers of traditional training courses, particularly for part-time workers."

The course modules follow the four main themes of The NYA's Youth Work for Health pack - healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and sex, mental and emotional wellbeing, and substance misuse.

McKie added: "It has been written by leading specialists to ensure it addresses the key issues to work effectively with young people and uses a range of interactive learning methods, including drag and drop quizzes and video and sound clips to lead participants through the key information and skills they need to work more effectively on health issues."
