The National Youth Agency: Framework for delivering youth support worker qualifications

1 min read
The Network of Regional Youth Work Units: England has produced a set of good practice guidelines for organisations that commission and deliver qualifications for youth support workers in England.

The document, Good Practice Guidelines in Delivering Youth Support Worker Qualifications, was initiated by the South West Regional Youth Work Unit. It draws on the experience of local authority youth services, voluntary organisations and training providers in the region. It grew from a recognition that there were common issues to be addressed whenever a course was delivered in a new setting.

It provides a framework to help partnerships in the delivery of qualifications to determine responsibilities for establishing the programme, recruitment and selection, programme delivery, assessment and quality assurance.

Comments from key players, including The National Youth Agency, ABC Awards and LLUK, have been incorporated into the final version, which is now available to download from the Learning South West Youth Work Unit website at www.learning-southwest.org.uk.
