1 min read
The Federation of Detached Youth Work has booked the Hayes Conference Centre in Derbyshire for its Annual Conference between 7 and 9 December.

The theme for this year will be antisocial behaviour: the detached youth work response to community problems, the law and young people's rights.

The conference will comprise three elements - social justice, the law and the rights of the young person; the impact on detached youth work; and what works in addressing community problems.

Speakers include Barry Goldson, senior lecturer and director of research and social policy, University of Liverpool; Terri Dowty, director, Action on Rights for Children; Graeme Tiffany, education and detached youth work consultant; Bernard Davies, youth work consultant; and Stuart Waiton, director, Generation Youth, Glasgow. Eight workshops are also planned.

The cost is 195 for members and 235 for non-members. Contact: Acomo Olule for more details. Tel: 0116 242 7490. Email: fdyw@nya.org.uk.
