The NYA has carried out research into the relationships local authority youth services have forged with Connexions Partnerships. From the responses received the vast majority have a contract or service level agreement, defined as delivering services as part of a business plan (54 of 68 responses).
One youth service has merged and nine have a hybrid relationship - where the youth service transfers a level of youth worker resource to Connexions to undertake the personal adviser role. The funding for this resource is passed from the local authority to the Connexions Partnership whilst the wider youth work role is retained by the youth service.
