The National Youth Agency: Celebrating a moment of history and achievements of the young

The spring issue of Vibes and Voices, out now, celebrates the achievements of young black and minority ethnic people in this country but also focuses on the remarkable journey of Barack Obama, providing a chronology of key dates in the trail leading to the White House.

Merlynne Francique, Vibes and Voices editor, said: "The articles in this issue not only celebrate the achievements of young black people but also set out to stimulate discussion around a number of issues."

These include a description of the opportunity to live and work with disabled young people as part of a trip to the Beijing Paralympics and the Walk of Hope, Peace and Dignity, celebrating three young men who set out to raise awareness of knife and gun crime.

Research that set out to investigate why some South Asian young people assume a double identity is the subject of the article by Barnardo's Kirklees Khandaani Dhek Bhal Service, pictured below.
