The National Youth Agency: Empowerment - Vibes and Voicescelebrates the work of young male volunteers

1 min read
The National Youth Agency has published the latest edition of Vibes and Voices, its magazine dedicated to promoting good practice in voluntary action by minority ethnic young people.

Featured are articles on the changing perspectives within Muslim youth work by Manaf Alderwish, and meeting the health needs of young black people by Judith Green. Charlene White gives a humorous account of her experience en route to becoming a reporter but makes the serious and valid point that "putting up barriers never achieves anything".

The work of young male volunteers is celebrated in an article entitled Our Unsung Heroes, which focuses on the positive things that young men from ethnic minorities are doing that often go unnoticed in the blaze of negative media publicity. As ever, the magazine provides a healthy list of useful links, resources and all the latest news.
