The call comes in the latest issue of The Agency's Spotlight series in response to the publication of the children bill on 4 March. It includes the implementation of some of the measures from last year's green paper Every Child Matters on services provided to and for children and young people by local authorities and other agencies, and legislation to establish a children's commissioner.
While supporting and welcoming much in the bill, The Agency is calling for youth services to be fully involved in inter-agency and partnership working on Local Safeguarding Children Boards, to protect the interests of young people, particularly those in the non-formal education system.
