The National Youth Agency: Bright future beckons for Melody

1 min read
The National Youth Agency's participation officer Melody Hossaini has been honoured in the Women of the Future Awards.

Melody, 23, volunteered with the UK Youth Parliament for 10 years and is involved in other global volunteering projects such as PeaceJam in the US and climate change work in East Asia. She was joint winner of the BT Woman of the Future Voluntary Award.

The awards, founded two years ago to identify female role models under the age of 35, celebrate rising stars in the business, public and creative world. They are hosted by Real Business magazine in association with Shell.

Judges said: "What Melody has achieved at just 23 is remarkable - starting as co-founder of the UK Youth Parliament and culminating in attending the PeaceJam Conference 2008. PeaceJam is an organisation which has recently been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. It would not surprise me if Melody herself were, one day, to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize."
