Young people and youth policy: international dimensions in youth work argues that the UK government's current engagement in international youth policy is too tentative and does not do justice to either its own policy development on youth services or the quality of British youth work. It says: "It should encourage British youth work to play a larger role in youth policy development both in Europe and beyond."

The leaflet, produced with the help and support of youth organisations, looks at the range of international engagement currently under way and the policy rationale for this as set out by the British Council.
