The National Youth Agency: All aboard for healthy youth work

1 min read
Young people across Redcar and Cleveland took part in formulating the concept of the "Health Installation", which features in the latest collection of healthy youth work case studies from projects around the country, published by The National Youth Agency.

Based on the four health areas from The NYA's Good Practice Guidelines for Healthy Youth Work of healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and sex, mental and emotional wellbeing and substance use the Health Installation aims to explore new ways to instil health at individual, community and service levels within informal settings, targeting people at risk of poor health outcomes.

The mobile Health Installation is a purpose-built area designed by young people within a single decker bus, a double decker bus, a minibus and two trailers. This mobile provision is supported by a toolkit developed by young people and a peer delivery model. Health Installation is part of the Safe in Tees Valley Prevention Programme.
