THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: Active involvement trainers step up thepace of delivery

Informally known as the 'Power Trainers', they have been working since April in teams of two with NYA development officer Bill Badham. They have each completed two workshops at DfES offices in London and one in Sheffield.

These were well received, with good evaluations from both. The next two workshops will be happening in the autumn. The training is backed up by some new resources from The NYA and by consultancy on specific DfES policy development areas.

"The young trainers have been brilliant," says Richard Parsons from the DfES Participation and Volunteering Team. "An excellent example of the Department putting young people in the lead and practising what we preach." Similar training is now in place for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
