The National Youth Agency: Access - Youthaction - celebrating young people's community involvement

1 min read
Look out for the latest edition of Youthaction, The National Youth Agency's magazine celebrating young people taking action in their communities. Youthaction is primarily aimed at young people but can be used by others to help encourage young people to become involved and/or provide ideas for their own volunteering projects.

The spring/summer edition, distributed to coincide with Volunteers Week at the beginning of June, is out next week and, as ever packs in loads of great examples of young people making a real difference in their communities.

Joint editor Angela Mulvehill said: "These are exciting times for young people's volunteering. April saw the launch of vinvolved, the new national volunteering programme, and local vinvolved teams are now in place in every local authority area who will signpost young people to volunteering opportunities." The scheme is billed as England's biggest ever youth action scheme and aims to inspire half a million more young people aged 16 to 25 to volunteer. Sign up to receive free copies of Youthaction by emailing ritak@nya.org.uk or download from The NYA website at www.nya.org.uk/youthaction next week. Bulk copies are available for organisations running volunteer recruitment events.
