Steven Macdonald, aged 11, becomes the latest member of Eastlands Homes neighbourhood wardens in east Manchester. Steven was awarded the special status of junior warden for taking the initiative to report that a neighbour in his street needed help. Nick Buckley, New East Manchester's youth intervention officer, said: "I hope this is the first of many awards."
