I would make sure that all deaf children and young people can access after-school sports activities.

As a profoundly deaf girl, I found it difficult to follow my dream of playing football. At secondary school, I joined an all-girls football squad, but being the first and only deaf footballer, I soon found it was difficult to communicate with my team.

A couple of years ago, I learned about the Deaf Friendly FC project, which was set up by the National Deaf Children's Society to make football clubs accessible to deaf children. The project helped me join Maidstone United, a local club that had just started football activities for deaf children. Playing for a club helped me develop my self-confidence and I have recently attended a training session with the Fulham FC Deaf Ladies team. A place in the Ladies GB Deaf team is my next goal.
