What is it? The Clifford Centre is the base for the New Forest's behaviour support team. The team provides education for up to 10 pupils at the centre. Staff also visit local schools to work with children in need of specialist support. The centre has recently been relocated to a new site. The children's commissioner, Sir Al Aynsley-Green, opened the new premises.
What do they do? The centre's multi-agency team support children who would otherwise be in danger of being permanently excluded. They equip pupils with coping strategies, build their self-confidence and meet their educational needs. Their work has helped make sure there have been no permanent primary school exclusions in the New Forest for more than seven years.
