Telford teenagers given a high-tech place to hang out

A high-tech youth shelter boasting Bluetooth and solar-powered lighting and radio has opened in Telford and Wrekin.

The innovative youth shelter allows young people in the town to play music from their MP3 players and mobile phones through an in-built solar-powered sound system. The shelter was commissioned by Telford and Wrekin Council and paid for by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund. Conservative councillor Denis Allen, Telford's lead member for community services, said the shelter reflected young people's current use of technology.
