Young people's entrepreneurial drive is being curtailed by lack of encouragement and fear of the recession, according to a recent Prince's Trust survey.
The survey of young people in Wales, by the Prince's Trust Cymru and the bank NatWest, found that more than two-thirds did nothing to turn their business ideas into reality.
One in five said they were holding off until the end of the recession and, according to Prince's Trust Cymru director Rick Libbey, schools, friends and parents often fail to give young ent-repreneurs the encouragement they need. Many surveyed criticised schools and careers advisers for failing to offer advice on issues such as self-employment and applying for funding.
