Sure start: Liverpool closure causes confusion

A Liverpool Sure Start scheme is to be suspended while its management procedures are reviewed.

Members of the Netherley Valley Sure Start Partnership Board closedranks following reports in the local press that the service is to beaxed.

A spokesperson for the board confirmed: "Services from a Sure Startlocal programme have been suspended while we review its policies andmanagement procedures."

But chair Paul Kelly was unavailable for comment and other board membersrefused to elaborate on the statement when approached by Children Now.
