Substance Misuse: Addaction project to support families with major drug and alcohol problems

1 min read

The 1.55m youngaddaction plus project has received three years' worth of funding from the Big Lottery Fund. Two Addaction workers - a family support worker and an intensive support worker - will deliver the project at youngaddaction centres in Cornwall, Buckinghamshire, Halton, Liverpool, and Lincoln.

The charity is working with Adfam, who will help train workers in family support.

The project will offer tier three and tier four support, which includes prescription treatment, detox and rehab in the community, to under-20s, as well as family members who could also be at risk, often at short notice.

Older young people will be supported in their transition to other services.
