Staff want clarity on joint working

Careers Early Years
Childcare professionals want to know and understand more about different roles within the wider children's workforce, a study has found.

The unpublished research by the charity 4Children involved more than 1,200 frontline childcare workers, and aimed to get an idea of their training needs.

More than 1,000 of the workers said there was a need for integration to be understood and defined in children's services. Other concerns included situations where practitioners feel intimidated by others and the need for mutual respect.

The research will be used to develop training courses run by 4Children, including one to help early years workers with joint working.
