This is one of the main messages from the first phase of a project todevelop training on integrated working for the private, voluntary andcommunity sectors. Charities 4Children and the National Children'sBureau are developing and testing the training in a two-year project(Children Now, 17-23 May).
Practitioners, including play workers and nursery nurses in nine areasof England gave their views during the first phase. "What is coming outreally strongly is the need to understand what other professionals inthe children's workforce do and what their roles are," said children'sworkforce consultant Charlotte Pace, who is leading the project.Childcarers also wanted their work to be valued and understood, sheadded.
