Sport: Boxing should be allowed in clubs

Speaking to Young People Now at The Federation of London Youth Clubs' Annual Boxing Championship Finals in London last week, Caborn said: "It's wrong that some authorities don't allow it. Boxing teaches discipline and respect."

The minister would like Great Britain to have "at least one representative" in each weight category at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and in 2012 in London. At last year's Olympics in Athens, Great Britain sent only one boxer, Bolton's Amir Khan.

As host, Britain has an automatic right to enter someone in each category in 2012, but will only do this if the boxers are of sufficient standard.
