The sofa represents the "hidden homeless", said Joy Ahearn, a Connexions personal adviser and co-ordinator of Guildford's Nightstop project: "A lot of young people have left home and end up sleeping on friends' sofas." Homelessness Sunday is an annual event run by the Homelessness Sunday Partnership, including Housing Justice, the Scottish Churches Housing Action and 2,000 other churches. www.justhousing.org.uk/homelessness-sunday.
