Young people are to be helped to rebuild their lives by giving them access to training, counselling and health services, along with shelter in a 1.8 m 22-bed quick access hostel, called the Mansfield Young People's Centre. It is to be managed by Nottingham YMCA.
The scheme is designed to support people aged 16 to 25 who live in former coalfield communities, which suffer from high levels of unemployment and drug problems.
