SOCIAL EXCLUSION: Report praises work of Positive Futures

Positive Futures operates 107 projects in the most deprived areas of England and Wales. In the past year, almost 14,000 young people who joined Positive Futures entered employment, education or training or improved their personal development skills.

Home Office drugs minister Caroline Flint unveiled the Impact Report at The Ridings School, Halifax, which is the base for Calderdale Positive Futures, named in the report as the country's best-managed Positive Futures project.

The Calderdale team works in partnership with the local youth inclusion project, youth service, Furness youth and community centre and the youth offending team to provide sports coaching and accreditation for 40 young people aged 10 to 16 a week.
