11% of looked-after children are there as a result of their family being in acute stress (7 per cent in England)
4% of looked-after children are placed for adoption (7 per cent in England)
37% of looked-after children have three or more placements during the year (15 per cent in England)
Telford and Wrekin Council is aware the number of foster placements a year is higher than the English average but says it is working to improve its children's services. The council's corporate director for education and culture, Christine Davies, said: "We are at the forefront of bringing agencies together to support children and are committed to a joined-up approach to children's services."
