Social Care news: Social Care Stats - Kent

11% of looked-after children with three or more placements in 2005/06 (12 per cent in England)

56% of looked-after children achieved at least one GCSE at grade A* to Gin 2005/06 (53 per cent in England)

82% of looked-after children had their teeth checked by a dentist at 30September 2006 (82 per cent in England)

62% of looked-after children had an annual health assessment at 30September 2006 (80 per cent in England)

In November 2006 the Commission for Social Care Inspection and Ofstedsaid that: "Through its well-established preventative strategy, Kent hassuccessfully reduced the numbers of looked-after children."
