All social services departments in Scotland's 32 local authorities will be inspected by 2008, which Gill Ottley, the depute chief inspector at the Social Work Inspection Agency, has described as an "enormous new agenda".
Children's services will be inspected as part of this and the agency will work closely with the Care Commission.
