Responding to a Government review of safeguarding boards, theassociation's programme director for children Caroline Abrahams said nowthe Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) hasresponsibility for youth justice, the three services should provideextra funding.
In a letter to agencies involved in safeguarding boards, ministers saidfunding had to be decided at local level and it was for board members tofind that money.
According to the forward work plan set out in the Government's review,the DCSF will devise a framework for measuring boards' progress forconsultation, clarify how strategic health authorities can engage withboards and trial the development of national templates for localprotocols later this year.
