Social Care News: Inspection - CSCI outlines work needed forOfsted

The Commission for Social Care Inspection has outlined what work needs to be done in children's services as it hands over responsibility to Ofsted.

In its report, Children's Services: CSCI findings, the commissionhighlighted that most work needs to be done in the areas that concernthe staying safe outcome of Every Child Matters.

It reveals that some agencies give insufficient priorities tosafeguarding, some fail to adequately monitor individual placements foryoung people living away from home, and access to family support isseverely restricted for many families.

It adds: "Unaccompanied asylum-seeking children are not being wellserved in many areas."
