The children will present Jane Hutt with a charter of changes needed toimprove fostering in Wales. Fostered children will also hand theminister a charter on how to improve their education.
The meeting is just one of many events that fostering professionals haveplanned for Foster Care Fortnight, which starts next Monday (8 May).
The charter by sons and daughters of foster carers asks: "Who better toconsult on what is working well and what needs to be improved?"
It says there should be named members of staff within the fosteringservice that have a special responsibility for carers' own children. Itcalls for birth children to be prepared well for the role of fostering -"we must have training to deal with issues such as saying goodbye, confidentiality and bullying," say the children. They also wantopportunities to meet together to share ideas with other sons anddaughters of carers because their own friends don't understand all theissues.
