#Chances4Children: Foster carers celebrated during Foster Care Fortnight

Foster carers have been praised for their dedication during the Covid-19 pandemic as part of Foster Care Fortnight.

Latest figures from The Fostering Network show that over the past 12 months more than 55,000 foster families have provided stable homes to more than 65,000 children across the UK.

Speaking in support of foster carers, during Foster Care Fortnight which runs until 23 May, children’s minister Vicky Ford said she was “humbled” by the “dedication and commitment” shown by such families.

“The added pressures you have faced during this global pandemic cannot be overstated. With the closure of schools and social distancing rules meaning you could often only receive virtual support from both loved ones and professionals.
