Social Care News: Every child matters - Domestic violence guidancelaunched

New guidance to protect children affected by domestic violence was published last week.

It is designed to help directors of children's services meet the fiveoutcomes set out in Every Child Matters. The Association of Directors ofSocial Services, the Local Government Association, the Children andFamily Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) and Women's Aidcollaborated to produce the guidance.

Margaret McGlade, spokeswoman on domestic violence for the Associationof Directors of Social Services, said: "It provides a clear frameworkfor developing comprehensive services for children affected by domesticviolence, and brings these children into mainstream planning for allchildren."
