Local authorities, primary care trusts and voluntary organisations havesigned up to use the framework. Councils in Rutland, Derby City,Derbyshire County, Leicester City, Leicestershire and Northamptonshirehave joined the collaboration.
The framework consists of a web site and handbook offering resources anda step-by-step guide to supporting commissioning. Those involved will beable to develop commissioning strategies and achieve value for moneythrough improved efficiency.
Chris Allison, regional director for the East Midlands Centre forExcellence, which has provided 80,000 towards the framework'said: "It is a good model of collaborative working for the benefit ofservice users and a model we are keen to promote to other regions."
