The Frank Buttle Trust, which is behind the By Degrees research project, plans to stage a major conference and hold a series of regional workshops to illustrate how care-leavers have been supported in their studies.
The trust has been awarded more than 110,000 from the Lloyds TSB Foundation to fund the dissemination of findings. It is also thinking of producing booklets for practitioners.
The By Degrees project, which was directed by the Thomas Coram Research Unit at the Institute of Education, has tracked three successive groups of care-leavers entering higher education and will release its final report next year.
Last week, 60 of the young people who took part in the project received certificates marking their achievements from Lord Laming at a reception at the House of Lords.
