Social Care News: Care homes - Residents scupper children's home

Plans to open a children's home in a Lincolnshire town have been scrapped as a result of opposition from residents.

Castle Homes Care spent thousands of pounds renovating a property in Newtoft near Market Rasen, but has now informed residents that it is looking for an alternative site in the area.

The company had even started recruiting employees for the new home.

It is believed that Castle Homes Care took the decision after residents had discovered a covenant that prevented the establishment of a business on the private estate in Newtoft.
