Social Care News: Adoption - Panel to examine effect of new laws

The Government last week appointed the panel charged with tracking the impact of laws prohibiting discrimination against same-sex couples by adoption services.

Barbara Hutchinson, executive director of the British Association forAdoption & Fostering, will chair the Independent Assessment Process thatwill examine the effect of the new regulations.

The Independent Assessment Process will produce regular reports for thePrime Minister about the changes. A group of child welfare and adoptionexperts will also be on the panel.
